The management of information related to the patient’s radio exposure.
What is it?
The Elios Dose module allows the management of information related to the patient’s radio exposure, allowing the acquisition of dosimetric data through detectors for each exam. The module provides all the functions aimed at recording and archiving the dosimetric data of patients undergoing radiological investigations, both in the form of radiological/exposure parameters , and in terms of dose index.
In particular:
It interfaces directly with the PACS system, regardless ofthe
diagnostic equipment’s manufacturers, and, if necessary, directly with the direct digital diagnostic methods;
It allows the registration, storage and communication of dosimetric data as required by the Directive 59/2013/EURATOM;
It integrates through standard communication protocols (HL7, DICOM);
It is able to collect dosimetric and exposure data using both Structures Reports(SR) and DICOM Headers.
The Elios Dose module is natively integrated with the Elios RIS and Elios PACS systems and, due to its characteristics, it is also able to integrate with other RIS-PACS systems currently on the market through the following methods:
Query/retrieve PACS systems to retrieve dose information from DICOM SR;
Direct integration with the modalities.
Combined to Elios PACS:
The Elios Dose module allows the management of information related to the patient's radio exposure, allowing the acquisition, for each exam, of the dosimetric data;
The module provides all the functions aimed at recording and archiving the dosimetric data of patients undergoing radiological investigations, both in the form of radiological/exposure parameters, and in terms of dose index;
The collected data can be extracted and exported in table/database format for analysis and statistics.
Alternatively, in combination with Elios BA (Business Analytics), it is possible to automatically represent the various possible correlations in terms of graphs, worklists and statistical extractions.
Combined to Elios RIS:
It allows you to associate the dose class to the list of exams radiological (ministerial nomenclature reference with associated dose class). The customer's medical physicist will be responsible for validating the dose class based on the diagnostic equipment and protocols used by the customer;
Introduction of dose classes in the medical-radiological procedure report. The report relating to medical-radiological procedures will be integrated with information relating to exposure by indicating of the dose class attributable to the examination in question (affixed with automatic printing at the bottom of the document signed by the radiologist).
Example:
Pursuant to art. 161 of Legislative Decree 101/2020 the indication of the dose class attributable to the examination is: CRANIAL / ENCEPHALUS TAC: II
The dosimetric and exposure data of the single exam acquired through Elios PACS
